Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and can close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home with a combined gross residence earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence profits does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Identity Document numbers, names, nsfas login and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or 2025 nsfas application intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in nsfas 2025 South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
